David Simonia, the Director of the Legal Aid Service (LAS), met with Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) students on October 29, 2025.
David Simonia discussed the LAS continuing services and gave the youth an overview of the free legal aid system operating in Georgia.
The presentation of the Legal Aid Service initiative "Paralegals" took up the second half of the meeting. The project is designed for inexperienced lawyers or non-non-lawyers who will be able to offer primary legal aid following specialised training.
The studentss indicated a desire to actively participate in the project and showed curiosity in its specifics.
Notably, the LEPL Legal Aid Service and the Institute of Legal Aid have signed a memorandum, which includes cooperation within the framework of joint projects.
