On August 22, representatives of the Legal Aid Service (LAS) met with Ukrainian refugees at the Ukrainian House in Batumi. Head of the LAS Information, Analytical and International Relations Department Maia Nozadze gave the Ukrainians an overview of the main areas of the Legal Aid Service operations, while Head of the Specialized Cases Bureau Teona Kvernadze and lawyer Tea Kaulashvili provided them with comprehensive information about the services and procedures required for asylum seekers to obtain refugee status. The meeting between the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and LEPL Legal Aid Service was held as part of the project “Improving the Rule of Law and Increasing Access to Justice for All”. It was attended by Levan Asatiani, Manager of the Rule of Law Project.
