Otar Chakhunashvili, Director of the Legal Aid Service, met with Irakli Kandashvili, Chairperson of the Georgian Bar Association. The parties reviewed key issues of cooperation between the agencies.
The conversation touched upon enhancing the role of public defenders employed in the Legal Aid Service. It was noted that the activities of public defenders are of particular importance, both for the proper functioning of the justice system and for protecting the rights of socially vulnerable citizens.
The parties expressed readiness for future close collaboration between the agencies and agreed on implementing joint initiatives.
