Otar Chakhunashvili congratulated the UNICEF Representative on her appointment and wished her every success.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the joint action plan developed within the framework of the partnership between the organizations. It was noted that the plan includes holding workshops for public defense attorneys on issues under juvenile justice and the Code on the Rights of the Child, including raising minors' awareness of their rights protection mechanisms and the LAS services. Additionally, the discussion covered launching a special mobile application for children to increase adolescents' access to the Service benefits, as well as the importance of setting up child-friendly spaces in the offices of the Legal Aid Service.
The parties agreed that as part of the joint action plan, close cooperation between the Legal Aid Service (LAS) and United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) will further strengthen juvenile justice and child rights protection mechanisms.
