The Director of the Legal Aid Service(LAS), Otar Chakhunashvili, met with the Auditor General of Georgia, Giorgi Gabitashvili. During the introductory meeting, the parties discussed matters related to institutional cooperation.
It was noted that within the scope of the State Audit Office's expanded mandate, close cooperation with the Legal Aid Service is essential on a number of issues such as personal data protection, conflicts of interest in public institutions, implementation of joint projects to better realize citizen rights and raise their awareness, staff training, implementation of unified approaches and standards for legal consultations, and many more.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Director of the Legal Aid Service, Lika Kobaladze, Deputy Director Gela Gelashvili, and Deputy Auditors General Giorgi Badashvili and Sofio Dvalishvili.
The parties agreed on active further cooperation.
