A working meeting was held on February 20, 2024, between the attorneys from the Legal Aid Service and the representatives of the "Rights of Georgia" organisation. A representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees also attended the meeting (UNHCR).
The meeting was held as part of the initiative - "Improving the services of the Legal Aid Service for refugees and asylum seekers in Georgia", being implemented by the Legal Aid Service with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
A presentation was delivered on the issues of human rights protection and security in various states of Asia and Africa. The researcher of "Rights Georgia" shared with the lawyers the suggestions on finding and using data regarding national origins. The participants also discussed practical issues and challenges in terms of legal protection of asylum seekers
