The director of LAS met with the members of the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Georgia in Marneuli

David Simonia, the Director of the Legal Aid Service, met with members of the Congress of the Georgian Azerbaijanis, who are representatives of the Azeri villages, on October 12 in Marneuli. David Simonia gave the invited audience an overview of Georgia's free legal aid system and went into great depth regarding the LAS services.

The representatives of the ethnic minority emphasized that there is a critical need for legal assistance in the region and it is crucial to implement initiatives aimed at raising the legal awareness of the population.

According to the Director of the LAS, the Service provides legal advice, advocacy services, and documentation preparation for representatives of the ethnic minority within the parameters of its statutory mandate and is ready to put forth such initiatives that will increase the population's access to free legal aid.
To increase legal awareness, an information campaign will be run in the communities where ethnic minorities live.

At the meeting,  the booklets about the Legal Aid Service , both in the Georgian and Azerbaijani languages were distributed,  which were created  with the support of the Council of Europe COE.
