A conference was held in Ozurgeti

On 2 November, LEPL Legal Aid Service, in cooperation with the Georgian Bar Association, held a conference on “ The  Current Issues Related to Children's Rights and Juvenile Justice” in the Ozurgeti Folklore center.  

The conference was attended by public and private lawyers operating in Guria and Samegrelo regions. The Chairman of the Bar Association, Davit Asatiani, introduced the expert Maia Bakradze to the lawyers, who spoke about determining the best interests of the child and the participation of the child lawyer in the trial. Nino Meladze, First Deputy Director of the Legal Aid Service addressed the gathering community on the challenges arising after the enactment of the Code of the Rights of the Child.

At the end of the conference, a discussion was held on issues of case law.
