A meeting was held with young people on issues of violence

As part of the global awareness campaign against women and domestic violence, Tsira Gamtsemlidze, the Deputy Head of the Legal Aid Service  (LAS) Tbilisi bureau, Tamar Sanikidze, a consultant, and Tinatin Uchaneishvili, a specialist, convened a meeting in the "Mermisi" college on December 8, 2023.
The meeting's  goal was to increase college students' and educators' legal awareness regarding women and domestic abuse.

The public was given an overview of the legal aspects  of the current issue by the lawyers, who also clarified what constitutes violence and the legal sanctions  for it. Additionally, they discussed victims' rights and methods for attempting to prevent or lessen projected violence and its severe   repercussions.

There was interaction during the meeting. In-depth details regarding legal aid services were also given to college representatives. One-on-one consultations were made available to interested parties.

It should be recalled  that the Legal Aid Service and "Mermisi" College signed a memorandum two years ago. As part of that agreement, the Legal Aid Service will regularly host discussions with attorneys on pertinent legal issues pertaining to college students.
