A discussion on legislative and normative base analysis, as well as the legal assistance system, was arranged by the Council of Europe on December 8. It was attended by experts  from Georgia and abroad,  as well as representatives from the Parliament, Legal Aid Board, Service Administration, and Heads  of several  bureaus.

The meeting was moderated by the project coordinator of the Council of Europe, Bakar Jikia.

Special reports were delivered by the first Deputy Chair of the Parliament's Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, Aluda Ghudushauri, the Head of the Council of Europe Office's Azerbaijan and Georgia departments, Mahir Mushteidzada, and the Director of the Legal Aid Service, David Simonia.

Council of Europe expert John Ooms, who took part in the conference online, assessed the activities performed by the Legal Aid Service, presented a report on the adjustments  to be made to the legal and regulatory framework, and gave relevant recommendations.

First Deputy of the Legal Aid Service, Nino Meladze responded to all of John Ooms' questions and shared her thoughts with the audience on how to make the Service's operations even better. The meeting came to end with the debate.
