Parliament Continues to Hear 2016 Activity Report of Legal Aid Service

The Parliament of Georgia continues to hear annual activity report of Legal Aid Service. On March 20, the director of the Service, Meliton Benidze introduced to the members of the Legal Issues Committee the 2016 activities of the Service, implemented reforms, statistics of the rendered legal aid and current challenges of the Service.

One week before, the annual report was also heard by Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee of the Parliament. As these two committees hear the report, the document will be discussed at the plenary session of the Parliament of Georgia after what the legislative body will adopt relevant resolution regarding performance evaluation of Legal Aid Service.

Legal Aid Service is an independent organization and is accountable only before the Parliament of Georgia.
