The accused was acquitted at the trial in Keda

On October 6, a mock trial of jurors was held at the Magistrate's Court in Keda, organized as part of the Legal Aid Service campaign "Make the Law Accessible to All".

The "jurors" were composed from the residents of Keda, while the prosecution was represented by the Poti Legal Aid Bureau and the defense - by the Batumi Legal Aid Bureau attorneys

The court was considering the case of a police officer who prevented a terrorist act and saved a school building from exploding but was arrested on charges of torturing a terror suspect.

The Keda residents listened to both sides of the process with great interest, discussed and seasoned over it and, despite the differences among the several differing opinions, rendered a verdict acquitting the accused.
